It's the Ram'dan Countdown! - Day 23

Bismillah, in the name of Allah

Suhoor: included a cereal bar, a few spare gingerbread men, a found and stolen packet of Cadbury's chocolate clusters, lots of water and dates. I started a date fan club a few years ago, I wonder if I could revive that membership? Who's with me? you'll receive a date fan club badge, monthly newsletter and prize draws of trips to date-land and date treasure hunt! -proudly shows off badge-

I spent most of the day finishing wrapping parcels. There were several hundred altogether. I'm also avoiding my University tutor who rings me for my feedback on the Science course I just completed, and what I want to do next. I'm supposed to be "smart" and pass all my sciencey work, then go onto something spectacular like International Studies, or Molecular Science. But I want to be a cupcake shop owner. Why isn't there a degree in that? Or climbing trees?

Iftar - I had rice, peach juice and ate a whole can of tuna. I know, I'm weird like that.

Irrationally, I and my sister stayed awake till suhoor (4am) working in the converted garage. She worked on her fashion/product designs, I fumbled through lists. The garage is partitioned and was converted to a study room; I also worked on a fundraising idea and blogged and organised the room, and began the final-last batch of Eidmas cards to post to Englanders.

I had also made my last batch of gingerbread men; somehow I misplaced around 50 addresses and needed more hot men to tickle recipients' taste buds. I iced these men, drew on little ":O" faces and buttons. They were wrapped in cellophane and will be shipped tomorrow insha'Allah!

People I know are murmuring of how fast Ramadan is going. Subhan'allah it is. I remark on how 'fast' time seems to pass and it is a sign of Allah's complexity. Seconds tick us closer to our ends but it's not alarming enough to urge us to action. I for one am stricken with sloth, pretty much the least working and effort-putting person I have met, but the words of Malcolm X - Shabazz, whom I adore and make dua for - resonate to move me: Man has little respect for time, and there is little respect for a man who does not wear a watch. I'm watching each hour now and ensuring I'm being more pro-active, completing chores and actualizing ideas each day rather than hoping some hero in a white 'thobe' will do it.

It's the final countdown to the end. A week left of peace without devils and then it's over. USE YOUR TIME WELL! Comment too, I'd like to know what different Muslimness things you did.

I've been following your Ramadhan Journals since Day 1, and I really liked them. They were the first things I read whenever I sat at the computer. JazakAllah Khair!
