Bon appétit!

Have you ever been frustrated because you couldn't find a halal restaurant? If so, there's some great news for you! Because people have started to realize that their is a market in selling halal food, top chefs, restaurants, and fast-food companies have decided to start trials on halal meat.

There's an estimated 2.6 million Muslims situated in Britain -- that's over 3% of the population. One thing is that their voraciousness for meat surpasses that of the general population.

As the end of Ramadan is nearing, this week will be Eid al-Fitr, a time where families and friends get together and celebrate with sumptuous food. This is the time which you would expect all of the world's meat to be eaten by the Muslims!

Zaika, a stylish Indian restaurant in Kensington has recently launched a gamut of alcohol-free cocktails and has a wide variety of halal dishes on its menu.

Head chef Sanjay Dwivedi stated: "It's been really busy during Ramadan and we've had so many young British Muslims coming in, some of them breaking their fast here or coming in later on to eat.

"They're all young, professional and moneyed and all quite trendy – they've got disposable incomes to go out and have really great food, and they know they can get halal meat here."

Not only are sales increasing outside, but they're booming in households as well! At Abraham Natural Produce, a mail order halal meat business, orders have increased by 40% during Ramadan as families have been planning for Eid celebrations.

While this is a good step for Muslims, it's just another giant step for cash cows like McDonalds to make more money and this time off Muslims!

Well I think its a great idea for the biggies (KFC, McDonalds etc.) to sell like halal food as well !

It will make them a lot of profit !

When less than 10% of the customers are Muslim, how will that make them a lot of profit...?

First of all people will stop takin away from them places, second is that their menu can't afford that...

They can't come up with a whole new cookery system just for Halal stuff...

It will never let them make bigtime profit... even if they open a McDonalds Halal... not enough customers...

In Muslim "ghettos" non halal Md's and KFC's means almost no turnover.

In Australia most MD's and KFC's in muslim areas (defined as areas where there are 20%+ muslims) sell halal food.

Basically they know that with halal you get muslim customers and basically all the normal customers. So it would be stupid not to sell halal.
