And it snowed And it snowed ...
A thick blanket of snow fell again last night all over UK. It was thicker than it was ermm 2 weeks ago! As I looked out of my bedroom window, I couldn’t help but think how beautiful, clean and pure the untouched snow looked! Well, that daze didn’t last long, because as soon as reality hit me on the head I realised that despite looking pretty, beneath the beautiful white surface, snow causes chaos for the daily work commuters, parents and kids going to school and in fact for everyone even those not daring to venture outside their homes!
The country over the past couple of weeks has practically come to standstill. Offices have been more or less empty (mine has anyway!) and anyone travelling has been caught up in the worst of it with many people abandoning their cars and trekking on foot! A repeat of what happened earlier on this year when a man walked 18 miles to get to work in the snow! Services such as the AA have even reported a record 25,000 breakdowns calls they have attended too.
Many people have argued that our government and our country should've been prepared for this type of weather seeing as this is the second year in a row. Many have argued they will not pay their council tax because roads in their area have not been properly treated. Is this the answer though? Is the way we respond to weather like this simply because we are not used to seeing this type of weather? What do you think is the best way to manage in weather like this without having to close schools or take the day off work? Is it not better to just ‘get on’ with it?
Ok, now the politics is out of the way onto the fun stuff... Everyone has a story to tell with the snow. So, what are your experiences of the recent snow that we have experienced here in the UK or even around the world? Because, it seems as though the UK is not the only place to have seen lots of the white stuff!
I will start off well last year I slipped and fell... Yes, not very nice, and this year, well not as painful as last year, but I had to get the wipers on my car fixed because the snow formed ice overnight it jammed my wipers together which damaged them... The result: No car for the day and a day off work!
Ok, so as I’m sat here looking out the window, the depth of the snow has now reached the number plates on the cars and it's continuing to fall from the sky. Wondering how much more... Although, today I have enjoyed working in my nice warm home. What tomorrow is going to bring?
As an end note if you have to travel in this weather make sure you take the necessary steps such as having sufficient levels of fuel in your car, wearing lots of layers and very warm clothing and being equipped with scrapers and the like! Oh, and whatever tomorrow brings take care...!

Why is it that bus drivers always help the damsel in distress
Have you thanked him twice?
