Help Haiti, Heal Haiti!
The situation in Haiti is getting worse by the minute unless we step into help them. If you haven't heard by now, Haiti was hit by a 7.0-magnitude earthquake, an earthquake the country hasn't witnessed in 200 years. Initial death toll was placed at 100,000, but is gradually rising to 200,000 people who could be dead. There's people who are desperate for food, clothing, and shelter.
This is our time to help these people in need. Even worse, the majority of the Haitian captial Port-au-Prince has been completely obliterated, including the Presidential Palace. This is a test from Allah (swt) for the people of Haiti, but even more for us because it tests our ability to help our brothers and sisters who are struggling to hold onto their lives.
Earlier today, there was an online conference by SeekersGuidance in affiliation with the Islamic Relief. I attended the conference, and they were able to raise $100,000 within 2 hours of the conference. They had a series of speakers which included the eminent Shaykh Hamza Yusuf who encouraged everyone to give whatever support they could provide to the Haitian people. Fortunately, they were successful and they met their goal. If $100,000 could be raised with a few hundred participants, think what thousands of people from different parts of the world could do to support Haiti.
If that isn't enough to run shivers down your back, then maybe this is. There are still hundreds of thousands people stranded, stuck, and dying. Let's not waste time and assist the Haitian people in whatever way we can. Did you know a simple $5 donation can be used to provide food and clothing to a Haitian child?
It's time for us as a Muslim Ummah to stand together to help the Haitian people who have already had problems in the past. This is the time to make a difference and help our brothers and sisters.
Muslims in England recommends to make your donation to the Islamic Relief. Every amount helps the cause, and you can do your part as a brother or sister to help the people out there struggling for their lives.
Donors can call the DEC's dedicated Haiti Earthquake appeal line which is open 24 hours a day on 0370 6060 900, or go to the website and follow the simple instructions.

May Allah help all of them!
