Help meee!

Because we're always asked a question through e-mail, we wanted to get the best answer. The best way would be to let our community answer it since we want it to be a collective response. Besides, that's what we are, right? Muslims in England! Please submit your answer below at the comments section. This week's question:

Hey,

This question is about grave or punishments. Allah says in the Quran: "They will wake up and say we had a very long sleep (The Death)". Now, if they feel like they had a very long sleep, how can they be punished then in the graves? Please clarify this for me!

Bye

    1. The question assumes that punishment is not possible in sleep which is not true.

    2. The reality is that the events of The Day will be as such that death would seem like sleep and the punishments within the grave would be forgotten:

36:52. (Seeing the horrors of the Hour of Resurrection,) they will say: ‘Ah, woe to us! Who has raised us from our sleeping apartments? This (coming back to life) is the same that the Most Kind Lord promised and the Messengers spoke the Truth.’

If a person is paralized... He won't express any pain even if you'll break his leg or whatever!

Your soul will be punished, not the physical body!

I guess that not everybody will have a nice sleep! Some people die during a nice sleep and MA's answer sound most suitable to me

But a guess when 'they' say who has waken us up (dsnt tht mean tht the soul was sleeping) cos the body already left us in this world during the transfer to the grave ?
