War on war?

“The Foreign Policy”, a newspaper which is accompanied on the desk of every single MP up to The President of US, spent much time covering The Fatwa launched by a well respected Islamic scholar Dr. Tahir ul Qadri last month. Since I'm in Texas these days, I found out that in history the “FP” never used the front-page of the cover for such “activity”. In fact, this time the “FP” covered it on the full front-page, the 11th and 13th page.

(On the front-page of "FP")

Even though about 1.320.000 Arabic websites, 600.000 English websites, 75.000 Russian websites, 30.000 Persian websites, 6.000 Chinese websites and more were discussing the new Fatwa, I found this cover more interesting. Why? Because “FP” is owned by the very own blood-brother of The Saudi King Abdullah.

Pre-Fatwa, I remember most of the people doubting whether The House of Saud did or didn’t financially support all these terroristic activities. If so, why would they make an exception for this Fatwa covering it on the very front-page of the “FP”?

This comprehensive condemnation of terrorism and suicide bombing based on the original and evidences and Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (pbuh) is different than other Muslim jurisprudents who have denounced suicide bombings as contrary to the spirit of Islam. Qadri’s ruling represents an important precedent nonetheless, one that could well contribute to the struggle between the suicide bombers and a more moderate brand of Islamic politics.

“FP” states:

“What makes him significant is the uncompromising rigor of his vision, which deploys a vast array of classical Islamic sourced to support the case that those who commit terrorist acts are absolutely beyond the pale. He’s especially keen on targeting the coming generation, younger members of the global community of believers who, he contends, have lost their bearings in the roiled post-9/11 world.”

Dr. Qadri:

“There was a need”.

“To address this issue authentically, with full authority, with all relevant Quranic authority, so that terrorists realize that whatever they’ve been taught is absolutely wrong and they’re going to hellfire. They’re not going to have paradise, and they’re not going to have 72 virgins in heaven. They’re totally on the wrong side.”

The question that every newspaper, TV-channel, weblog, and the rest of the world wants answered is: “Will this 600-paged Fatwa actually DO bring a change?”

Hmmm, what have you guys never heard of a political stunt? In which they just do this to show you one thing, but actually do mean the other...

    Ghost-actions!

Show that you're fighting against it, while you support it!

I don't really believe that the FP did this! They would never support this "ruling"
