Attack on Queens-day

Though I recently moved here, I regularly visit the country where I was born: the Netherlands. I was there last week. By coincidence it was around the time that Queensday is celebrated on the 30th of April. What do we do on the April 30th? Well there is music, free market and various activities for young and old. In short much fun. The Royal family is having a day out and is amongst the general population. Video Report by RTL-news:?

This year was a black day in the history of the country. After the attacks of Pim Fortuyn and Theo van Gogh, there was an attack on the Royal family. A man drove a car right off the bus, where they were sitting in. When I heard this on the news, there was relatively little known about the offender. You can imagine as a being a Muslim, I was terrible worried and hoped that the attacker was no Muslim. What would have been the scenario if it was a Muslim? I can see the headlines in the newspapers saying: Al Qaida attack on the Queen; Muslim commits suicide; The Netherlands is no longer safe for Muslim terrorists. Fortunately it didn’t come that far, otherwise the Muslims could have packed their suitcases. The act, which all Muslims could have been held responsible for and every Muslim would constantly trying to defend him- or herself. Now the attacker is a Dutchman, the facts are different. The police spoke about;”A non-terrorist attack”. It is a “one-mans act.” 7 people died including the attacker and several people are in critical condition in the hospital and you call this a non-terrorist attack? Do you mean to say it would have been a terrorist attack if there where Muslims involved? I am tired that things are always measured with to different standards. It’s still a question whether this will change or not… On behalf of The Editorial Team, I want to express my condolences to the relatives and friends of the 7 deceased.

Very true, had the attacker been a Muslim the story would have been represented in a totally different light..

    Umm how to explain this.....

There is a political party here in Holland who actually wants to throw all Muslims out of Holland.

In Holland we have got 16 million people, of which 1,2 million are supporting this party called PVV under the supervision of Geert Wilders!

So this explains how much racism we have got here in Holland, approx 1 in 16 ppl.

a very interesting phenomenon, I would not have known about this had it been for this website. I do not recall of anything in the news about it.

I agree with the comments as to what the situation would have been like if it were a Muslim. It actually reminds me of a few talks by Sidi Hamza Yusuf in which he talks about a few things related to this. One of particular note was in his recent talk on 'domestic violence'. In which he swiftly utters the words, "unfortunately, if a Christian beats his wife up, its not Christian violence...etc... but if a Muslim should do something to his wife, suddenly it has something to do with Islam.... those Muslims! What is wrong with that religion?"

Nonetheless, on relation to this topic you want to see this:
